The Tyne Tunnels and Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Authority

Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Authority (PTA) is responsible for the management and operation of the Tyne Tunnels (TT). It comprises of fifteen Local Councillors nominated by the five District Councils in Tyne and Wear, the number of nominations being determined by the population of each district.  Newcastle City Council is the Lead Authority for the PTA providing support services for the Tunnels.
