Shields Ferry is operating normally.   Metro trains are operating normally

Bus

We monitor the bus network and identify areas that are poorly served, or not served at all.  We then pay the bus operators to run additional services that would otherwise not operate -mainly early in the morning, in the evenings and on Sundays. Key locations are served including places of work, hospitals and residential areas. About 12% of bus miles (carrying about 7.5m passengers) operated every year are paid for by us in this way costing around £2.4m..

We also manage major bus stations as well as provide accurate information at over 6,000 bus stops across Tyne and Wear.

New bus schemes and projects include LinkUp, Route 19 and QuayLink.
