Project Timeline
- Transfer of tunnels and staff to TT2 took place 1 February 2008
- Site preparation works started April 2008
- Main construction works started October 2008
- Dredging of river started 2009
- Pre-fabricated tunnel units were lowered into position Winter 2009/10
- Traffic switched over to New Tunnel February 2011
- Existing tunnel closed for refurbishment February 2011
- Both vehicle tunnels go operational 21 November 2011
