A replacement website for the New Tyne Crossing has now gone live.
The redesigned site replaces the original which was created in 2000. New Tyne Crossing Project Director Paul Fenwick said: “We are conscious of our duty to provide our stakeholders with clear, up-to-date, easily accessible information. The new site, I believe, delivers that. “It has a content management system which allows our communications advisors Bradley O’Mahoney Public Relations to update the site with new information as soon as it goes into the public domain.” The creation of the new site is part of a bigger contract that includes Tyne and Wear public transport operator Nexus and the Tyne Tunnel. The sites were designed and developed by Scotland-based Campbell Lee, one of the country's leading independent IT solutions providers. In delivering the new, state-of-the-art websites, Campbell Lee's solution utilises IBM Workplace Web Content Management, a powerful and sophisticated web content management product designed to accelerate the development and delivery of critical business information. Campbell Lee Marketing Manager Brian Young, said: "Campbell Lee has considerable expertise in content management and portal technologies. As in all projects there were technical hurdles to overcome; however, perhaps the biggest challenge has been in co-ordinating input from all the partners so that all needs are met. Hopefully we have achieved this and the client now has the infrastructure and skills to extend and enhance their own websites quickly, simply and effectively." The address of the New Tyne Crossing website remains the same at: www.newtynecrossing.info Ends
