The hearing of the Legal Challenge against the Secretary of State for Transport’s decision to approve the New Tyne Crossing concluded yesterday (Wednesday 5 April).
Tyne & Wear Passenger Transport Authority, as sponsor of the scheme, was also represented at the High Court hearing in London. A spokesman for the New Tyne Crossing said: “The judge reserved judgement and we are hopeful his decision will be made public shortly after Easter. “We are satisfied that all material facts have been aired at today’s hearing. “Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Authority did not produce new evidence or information at the hearing but responded to points raised by Mr Atkinson’s barrister.” ends Issued on behalf of the New Tyne Crossing by Bradley O’Mahoney Public Relations.
