New Tyne Crossing exhibition for Simonside
A special exhibition about plans for the New Tyne Crossing is to be held for residents of Simonside in Jarrow.
The exhibition will be open from 3pm on Wednesday 1 August at Low Simonside Community Association in Taunton Avenue followed by a public meeting at 6pm.
Simonside is the site of one of the options for a new road interchange on the south bank of the Tyne.

Note
to editors: The £120 million New Tyne Crossing between Howdon and Jarrow
will be of immersed tube construction. Work is expected to begin in 2004 with
the new tunnel open to traffic in late 2006.
