The independent Inspector appointed by the Deputy Prime Minister to conduct the Public Inquiry was Mr Stuart Nixon. It was his role to ensure the Public Inquiry was run properly and to hear the evidence from all sides for and against the application to build the New Tyne Crossing.
After hearing all the evidence, he will have written a report and submitted it to the Secretary of State. We are currently awaiting the Secretary of State’s decision.
